Nova Eroica Switzerland will take place on Saturday 13 June 2026 in Poschiavo, Valposchiavo (Grisons – Switzerland)
All participants are required to read carefully the following Regulations before registering for NOVA Eroica.
ART. 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT
Nova Eroica Switzerland will take place on Saturday 13 June 2026 in Poschiavo (GR – Switzerland).
Nova Eroica Switzerland is an Amateur Cycling Race with a Hybrid and amateur cycle-tourism formula that takes place mainly on gravel roads.
The Race includes two competitive routes with timed special stages and free-pace transfer sections, and one cycle-tourism route.
In these Regulations NOVA Eroica Switzerland Valposchiavo will also be referred to as the Event, the Manifestation, or the Race.
ART. 2 – BICYCLES
Nova Eroica Switzerland is a cycling race for gravel bicycles. Road bikes and cyclocross bikes with carbon, steel, titanium, or aluminum frames are also allowed; mountain bikes and pedal-assist bicycles are prohibited.
Bicycles must have drop handlebars.
Gravel bicycles, to be defined as such, must have tyres of at least 32mm and disc brakes on both front and rear wheels.
2.1 Definition of Gravel Bicycle
The frame of a gravel bicycle derives from a Cyclocross frame, already widely defined by FCI. The differences between a CX frame and a gravel bike are:
Bottom bracket height 27.5/28 mm
Head tube higher on average by 1.5/3 cm
Head tube angle greater than 70°
Rear triangle and fork wide enough to accommodate wheels up to 50 (average wheels used 700x32/40 or 560bx40)
Disc brakes 140/160 mm
Internal cable routing
Steel/carbon frame, in some cases also aluminum
1x or 2x groupset (such as Campagnolo Ekar or Shimano GRX or Sram Force)

Exclusively for participants in the short route “Fondovalle Bio” – 50 km, E-Gravel bicycles with electric motor assistance and E-MTB bicycles with electric motor assistance are permitted.
Mechanical (non-electric) MTB bicycles, meaning bicycles without electric motor assistance, are not permitted on any route of Nova Eroica Switzerland.
ART.3 – ROUTES AND STARTS
NOVA Eroica Switzerland includes 3 different routes:
The Competitive routes include free-pace transfers and timed special stages, while the cycle-tourism route is in free pace, as described in the following Art.10.
Each participant may choose the route most suitable to him, and the choice must be indicated at the time of registration. It is still possible to change the type of route up to the moment of departure without any penalty between routes that require the same type of medical certificate.
Such faculty may be limited or conditioned by the organization for technical and/or safety reasons.
Minors aged 13 to 17 may participate in the Short route “Fondovalle Bio” 50 km. Authorization from parents or legal guardians is required, using the form available at the following LINK.
The routes will be marked with arrows, but each participant must rely on the GPS tracks and timing charts available on the website eroica.cc/it/nova-eroica-prosecco-hills on the routes page.
The Organization will guarantee the presence of a Start of the Event and an End of the Event, which will pass along the routes.
The starts will take place according to the following times:
ART. 3.1 REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT

Participation in the Nova Eroica Svizzera is at the participant’s own risk. The organiser, Valposchiavo Turismo, as well as all involved municipalities, organisations, staff and partners, accept no liability for personal injury, property damage or financial loss. Participants are solely responsible for their own safety and assume all risks associated with the event. Participation requires adequate personal accident insurance and third-party liability coverage. Participants residing in Switzerland must be covered by valid non-occupational accident insurance. Participants residing abroad must hold equivalent insurance valid in Switzerland, for example through a sports licence or club membership. By registering, participants confirm that they are in good health, that their equipment is in proper condition, and that they accept all applicable rules and traffic regulations.
ART. 4 – START ORDER

ART. 7 – METHODS AND COSTS OF REGISTRATION
Registrations can be purchased directly on the online platform MyEroica: https://www.myeroica.cc
Each participant must register on the platform with their own email address by choosing a password. The email address will serve as the user ID, and the same email address cannot be used for 2 or more people.
Registrations can only be made individually. Sports groups wishing to register the team with a single MyEroica account must request it from the Organization.

ART. 8 – COLLECTION OF THE TECHNICAL ENVELOPE AND RACE PACK

It is possible to “delegate” a friend or trusted person by providing the printout of the “MY EROICA page” duly completed and originally signed in the section dedicated to the DELEGATION, in addition to a copy of the identity document of the delegating person and a copy of the competitive sports license.
For the collection of Technical Envelopes and Race Packs for sports groups, a cumulative list is required, indicating the data of each participant.
ART. 9 – SUBSTITUTIONS OR CANCELLATION OF PARTICIPATION
Up to 30 days before the date of the event, it is possible to request the substitution of a participant only if they are properly registered. The new participant replacing the previous one must register in the “MY EROICA” System and upload the required documents.
If a registered participant is unable to take part in NOVA Eroica Switzerland Valposchiavo, the participation fee will not be refunded and shipment of the race pack is not provided.
Up to 30 days before the date of the event, cancellation may be communicated by sending an email to the following address eventi@valposchiavo.ch
The organization reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to evaluate communications received if motivated by an “objective impossibility to participate due to injury,” documented by clinical reports.
Clinical documentation will be processed in compliance with current Privacy regulations.
In cases recognized by the organization, only the participation fee will be considered valid for registration for the following year’s edition, subject to payment of a secretarial fee of CHF 15.00.
The registration carried over to the following year is nominal and non-transferable to third parties and will only be valid for the year following the renunciation. In case of another failure to participate, the fee will be considered lost.
ART. 10 – TIMING CHART AND TIMEKEEPING
The Timing Charts for all routes will be published on the website www.novaeroicasvizzera.it and made official at least 7 days before the event.
At the start and finish of each TIMED Special Stage, the individual times of athletes in the race will be recorded using the appropriate chip applied to the bike number provided in the technical envelope. Those who skip even a single TIMED Special Stage will not appear in the final results. Referring to the U.C.I. and F.C.I. Regulations, paragraphs 1.3.010 and 12.4.003 on technological fraud, the race jury, with the technical support of the organization, is authorized to carry out random or systematic checks.
Non-compliance or refusal to undergo the required technical inspections will result in immediate disqualification and reporting to the competent authorities.
Timekeeping will be carried out only for the Long route “Contrabbando” and the Medium route “Granpanoramica Selva,” with methods that will be communicated before the Event.
ART. 11 – TEAM COMPOSITION, RANKINGS AND AWARDS
A team will be defined as such if composed of a minimum group of 4 cyclists registered with the same sports association. Teams may consist solely of men, solely of women, or mixed.
Teams that bring the highest number of cyclists to complete their respective routes within the maximum time indicated in the timing chart of Art.10 will be awarded. In the case of teams composed of the same number of cyclists, the best sum of the recorded times will be considered.
Team Ranking:
In case of a tie between two or more Teams, the overall ranking of the competitors will be considered.
The Awards Ceremony will take place at the end of the race as indicated in the event program on the website www.novaeroicasvizzera.it.

ART. 12 – INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS AND AWARDS
The Rankings will be determined by the sum of the individual times of the Timed sections.
Long Route “Contrabbando” and Medium Route “GranPanoramica Selva”
1st/2nd/3rd place male finishers for the medium and long courses;
1st/2nd/3rd place female finishers for the medium and long courses.
Largest team at the start of all three courses (short/medium/long);
The official award ceremony will take place at the end of the race in the Village at 17:30.
PRIZES NOT COLLECTED IN PERSON WILL NOT BE GIVEN TO THIRD PARTIES NOR SENT TO THE RECIPIENT’S HOME.
The Organization reserves the right to modify the categories in accordance with new regulations or new requirements.
All participants who complete NOVA Eroica Switzerland Valposchiavo will receive a commemorative medal of the event at the finish.
ART. 13 – PUBLICATION OF TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
At the end of the Medium route “Granpanoramica Selva” and the Long route “Contrabbando”, the rankings of the individual timed special stages and the team ranking will be compiled and published.
ART. 14 – MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Medical assistance includes the presence of ambulances with doctors and medical staff.
ART. 15 – MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE
Assistance of any kind by private vehicles following the race is strictly prohibited. The Organization guarantees mechanical assistance at all refreshment points. The Organization provides mechanical assistance during the race, but does not guarantee full efficiency for all athletes; therefore, it is recommended to have a repair kit for mechanical issues and punctures.
ART. 16 – ROUTE CLOSURE AND DEVIATIONS
The maximum time to complete all routes is set at XX:00.
Along the routes the following time checkpoints will be established:

Beyond these times, services for participants will no longer be guaranteed.
ART. 17 – COMPLAINTS AND INFORMATION
Any complaints must be submitted to the organization exclusively by email to eventi@valposchiavo.ch within 10 days after the publication of the list of finishers.

ART. 18 – REFRESHMENT POINTS
Along the routes there are official REFRESHMENT points equipped with drinks, sweet and savory food in authentic Eroica style.
It is reminded that the refreshment points are free of charge and will have the following opening and closing times:

ART. 19 – CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING OF THE EVENT
If, due to force majeure, the event should not take place, the amount paid at the time of registration will not be refunded, but only the participation fee will be considered valid in case of a request for registration for the following year’s edition. The organization will also be entitled to a secretarial fee of CHF 15.00 for transferring the registration to the following year. The request for registration for the following year and the payment of the secretarial fee must take place by the date indicated by the organization after the cancellation of the event.
Furthermore, due to force majeure or other serious reasons that could jeopardize the preparation of the event or the participation of a number of people no less than half of the registered participants, the Organization reserves the right to change the venue and/or date of the event within the same calendar year. In this case, the fee paid for the registration will be valid for the event on the rescheduled date, without additional costs for the participants. In this case, it is not possible to transfer the registration to the following year’s edition.
ART. 20 – CHANGES
The Organization reserves the right at any time to make changes to the regulations. The official event website where these regulations are published is the only official source of information regarding the event.
ART. 21 – RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF THE RIDERS
Riders are required to visibly fix the bike numbers behind the saddle, as well as to apply the race bib on their back, provided by the Organization. These numbers may not be modified or altered in any way.
It is mandatory to use an approved rigid cycling helmet and keep it fastened for the entire duration of the race. Riders must comply with the traffic regulations throughout the entire race, including in the timed sections.
ART. 22 – DISQUALIFICATIONS
Disqualifications of 2 years will be applied to those who:
Engage in behavior that is not environmentally responsible, such as discarding waste outside the areas designated at the refreshment points and controls.
We appeal to the civic sense of all participants so that the territories along the route remain clean.
In serious cases, such as participating with another person’s RACE NUMBER and the unauthorized transfer of one’s registration, at the unquestionable judgment of the organization, disqualification may be for life.
Disqualifications imposed during the year may result in exclusion from the starting list at any time at the sole discretion of the Organization.
The use of bicycles equipped with any kind of motor or movement assistance is strictly forbidden and will result in disqualification or exclusion.
ART. 24 – APPROVAL, CONSENT, AUTHORIZATION, ETC.
By requesting to participate in NOVA Eroica Switzerland in any of the ways provided by these regulations, each participant, from the moment of registration:
Grants the Organization the broadest consent to use, in the ways permitted by law, including for profit, any of their video or photographic images taken during the days of the event, granting the Organization the right to transfer such images to third parties. The aforementioned authorization for the use of one’s image is intended as granted indefinitely and without territorial limits worldwide, for use in various publications and films, including, merely by way of example and not limitation, promotional and/or advertising materials created on all media. The Organization may also transfer to third parties and to its institutional and commercial partners the rights of use provided for in this agreement.
The Organization declines all responsibility for itself and for its collaborators for accidents or damage to people or property that may occur before, during, or after the event or as a result of it.
Furthermore, by submitting the online registration form, the participant self-certifies the absence of sports, civil and/or criminal sanctions, even if already served, for facts related to doping, and declares not to have taken – and not to take – substances included in the anti-doping list of the World Antidoping Agency (WADA) http://list.wada-ama.org/prohibited-all-times/prohibited-substances/
False self-certification will be prosecuted according to the law.
In the event of a positive anti-doping test during Nova Eroica Switzerland Valposchiavo, or of a positive result detected within the following 6 (six) months in other sporting events, the competitor is required to pay the NOVA EROICA Organization, as compensation for the serious damage caused to the image of the event, the amount of CHF 50,000.00 (fifty thousand Swiss francs/00).
The sums collected by the Organization as compensation for damage to the image will be entirely donated to youth sports activities.
ART. 25 – ORGANIZATION, PROCESSING AND RECORDING OF PERSONAL DATA
