REGULATIONS NOVA EROICA ISTRIA – TRUFFLE TOUR

NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tour is an Amateur cycling event that takes place predominantly on gravel roads with Gravel, Cyclocross, or Traditional Road Bicycles. All Participants are required to carefully read the following regulations before registering.

ART. 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT

NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tour will take place on Friday, May 1st – Saturday and May 2nd, 2026, in Novigrad (Cittanova), Istria, Croatia.

The cycling event includes:

  • Friday, May 1st, 2026: Ciclo Club Eroica Tour, Vintage Tour, Eroica Family Tour
  • Saturday, May 2nd, 2026: 2 Competitive routes with timed special stages and transfer sections in free pace, and 1 Cycle-touring route

In these Regulations, NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tour will also be referred to as the Event, the Manifestation, and/or the Race. The NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tour event is reserved exclusively for adult participants.

ART. 2 – BICYCLES

NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tour is an Amateur Cycling Event for gravel bicycles, on the 2 LONG and MEDIUM Competitive routes, with carbon, steel, titanium, and aluminium frames. Bicycles on the 2 Competitive routes must have a drop handlebar. To be defined as such, gravel bicycles must have tires with a minimum width of 32 mm and disc brakes on the front and rear wheels.

ART. 2.1 Definition of Gravel Bicycle

The frame of a gravel bicycle is derived from a Cyclocross frame, already widely defined by the UCI. The differences between a CX frame and a gravel bike are:

  • Bottom bracket height 27.5/28 mm
  • Head tube higher by an average of 1.5/3 cm
  • Head tube angle greater than 70°
  • Rear triangle and fork width capable of accommodating wheels up to 50 (average wheels used 700x32/40 or 560bx40)
  • Disc brakes 140/160 mm
  • Internal cable routing
  • Steel/carbon frame, in some cases also aluminium
  • Gear group 1x or 2x (type Ekar Campagnolo or GRX Shimano or Force Sram)
  • Drop handlebar

ART. 2.2

Only and exclusively for participants in the SHORT "Malvasia Route" - 60 km route, E-Gravel bicycles with the aid of an electric motor, and E-MTB bicycles with the aid of an electric motor, are permitted.

However, regular (non-electric) MTBs are not permitted on any route of Nova Eroica Istria.

ART. 3 – ROUTES AND STARTS

NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tours offers 3 routes:

  • LONG "Truffles Route" - 150 km - COMPETITIVE
  • MEDIUM "Teran Route" - 100 km - COMPETITIVE
  • SHORT - "Malvasia Route" - 60 km - CYCLE-TOURING

The Competitive routes include transfer in free pace and timed special stages, while the cycle-touring route is entirely in free pace.

Every participant has the right to choose the route that best suits them, and the choice must be indicated at the time of registration. It is possible to change the route type until April 15, 2026, without any penalty between routes that require the same type of medical certificate.

This option may be limited or conditioned by the organization for technical and/or safety reasons.

The routes will be marked with arrows, but everyone must rely on the GPS tracks and time-tables available on the event website: www.eroica.cc/la-corsa-istria/ .

The Organization will guarantee the presence of a Race Start and a Race End vehicle, which will travel along the routes.

The starts will take place respecting the following times:

  • LONG "Truffles Route" - 150 km - Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at 8:00 AM
  • MEDIUM "Teran Route" - 100 km - Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at 9:00 AM
  • SHORT "Malvasia Route" - 60 km - Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at 10:00 AM

ART. 3.1 NECESSARY EQUIPMENT FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT

The organization:

  • GUARANTEES some refreshment points (see Art. 17 respecting the indicated times);
  • OBLIGATION to have front and rear lights at the start
  • OBLIGATION of the Chip to be affixed to the Bicycle provided in the Technical Envelope
  • RECOMMENDS a repair kit; the official refreshment points will be equipped with a Cyclists' Toolbox, to be used independently, without guaranteeing the presence of spare parts and all types of tools;
  • RECOMMENDS energy food for the journey.

ART. 4 - STARTING ORDER

The Race foresees 3 starting grids:

  • GROUP “A”
    • Ciclo Club Eroica
    • Guests
  • GROUP “B”
    • Gravel Bicycles

ART. 5 – CERTIFICATE OF FITNESS FOR SPORTS PRACTICE

For all participants, it is MANDATORY to present a VALID MEDICAL CERTIFICATE to the organization. The required medical certificate depends on the type of route chosen.

Participation for the 150 km and 100 km routes, which are competitive and require high psychophysical effort, is subject to the regular possession of the following requirement:

  • for subjects with foreign residency (excluding the following nations: Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia): a certificate of fitness for participation in competitive cycling races also issued by a doctor in their country of residence.

Participation for the 60 km route, which is non-competitive and requires low psychophysical effort, is subject to the regular possession of the following requirement:

  • for subjects with foreign residency (excluding the following nations: Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia): a certificate of fitness for non-competitive cycling practice or fitness for sports activity requiring particular and high cardiovascular effort or equivalent, also issued by a doctor in their country of residence.

For those who make a LAST-MINUTE REGISTRATION, the medical certificate must be presented and validated upon collection of the technical envelope, accompanied by a valid identification document. Anyone who does not comply with this requirement WILL NOT be considered regularly registered and will not be entitled to a refund of the registration fee.

ART. 6 - REGISTRATION METHODS AND COSTS

Registrations can be purchased directly on the event's platform myeroica.cc.

Every participant must register on the platform with their own e-mail address, choosing a password. The e-mail address serves as the user ID; the same e-mail address cannot be used for 2 or more people.

Registrations can only be made individually. Sports groups that wish to register the team through a single account must make a request to the Organization, by writing to info@istra.hr.

Every athlete must still be registered on the Myeroica platform.

Registrations will open at 09:00 AM on December 15th, 2025 (Rome time, CET) with the following costs and closing dates:

LONG AND MEDIUM ROUTE

  • CICLO CLUB EROICA Registration reserved for Members of the Ciclo Club Eroica at € 50.00 (The Personal CCE Race Number will be guaranteed for registrations made by March 31, 2026)
  • EARLY BIRD Registration open to all at € 70.00, from December 15th, 2025, until February 28th, 2026
  • STANDARD Registration open to all at € 80.00, from March 1st, 2026, until March 31st, 2026
  • STANDARD LATE Registration open to all at € 90.00, from April 1st, 2026, until April 30th, 2026
  • LAST MINUTE Registration open to all at € 100.00 from May 1st, 2026, until May 2nd, 2026, during technical envelope collection hours (see Art. 7)

The registration fee, regardless of the established price, will include:

  • RACE PACK with gifts and souvenirs of the event;
  • PERSONALIZED BACK RACE NUMBER (for registrations made by April 19, 2026, 11:59 PM) to be attached to the jersey and number for the bicycle - excluding those registered with Ciclo Club Eroica;
  • EROICA MAP with details of the routes and refreshment points;
  • REFRESHMENT POINTS in a different number depending on the length of the routes;
  • AWARD UPON ARRIVAL;
  • MEAL at the conclusion of the event;
  • SHOWERS upon arrival.

SHORT ROUTE

  • CICLO CLUB EROICA Registration reserved for Members of the Ciclo Club Eroica at € 30.00 (The Personal CCE Race Number will be guaranteed for registrations made by March 31, 2026)
  • EARLY BIRD Registration open to all at € 50.00, from December 15th, 2025, until February 28, 2026
  • STANDARD Registration open to all at € 60.00, from March 1st, 2026, until March 31, 2026
  • STANDARD LATE Registration open to all at € 65.00, from April 1st, 2026, until April 30, 2026
  • LAST MINUTE Registration open to all at € 70.00 from May 1st, 2026, until May 2, 2026, during technical envelope collection hours (see Art. 7)

The registration fee, regardless of the established price, will include:

  • RACE PACK with gifts and souvenirs of the event;
  • PERSONALIZED BACK RACE NUMBER (for registrations made by April 19, 2026, 11:59 PM) to be attached to the jersey and number for the bicycle - excluding those registered with Ciclo Club Eroica;
  • EROICA MAP with details of the routes and refreshment points;
  • REFRESHMENT POINTS;
  • AWARD UPON ARRIVAL;
  • MEAL at the conclusion of the event;
  • SHOWERS upon arrival.

ART. 7 - COLLECTION OF THE TECHNICAL ENVELOPE AND RACE PACK

The RACE PACKS and TECHNICAL ENVELOPES with the RACE NUMBERS will be distributed at the established points during the following times:

TECHNICAL ENVELOPES

  • Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM;
  • Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM;
  • Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 7:00 AM until 9:30 AM;

RACE PACKS

  • Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM;
  • Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM;
  • Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM;

For the collection of the TECHNICAL ENVELOPE and the RACE PACK, it will be necessary to present:

  • printout of the "MY EROICA" page showing the completed registration;
  • valid identity document;
  • SPORTS MEDICAL CERTIFICATE - COMPETITIVE FOR CYCLING ACTIVITY

It will be possible to "delegate" a friend or trusted person by handing over the printout of the "MY EROICA page" duly completed and originally signed in the section dedicated to the DELEGATION (LINK), in addition to a copy of the delegator's identity document and a copy of the competitive sports card.

For the Collection of Technical Envelopes and Race Packs for sports groups, it is necessary to present a cumulative list indicating the details of the individual participants.

ART. 8 - SUBSTITUTIONS OR CANCELLATION OF PARTICIPATION

Up to 30 days before the event date, it is possible to request the substitution of a participant only if they are compliant with the registration. The new participant must register on the "MY EROICA" System and upload the required documents (competitive sports medical certificate) to replace the previous one. An administrative fee of € 15.00 will be requested for this operation.

If a registered person is unable to participate in NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tour, the participation fee will not be refunded, and the shipping of the race pack is not foreseen. Up to 30 days before the event date, it is possible to communicate cancellation by sending an e-mail to the following address info@istra.hr.

The organization reserves the right to evaluate, at its sole discretion, the communications received if they are motivated by "objective impossibility to participate due to injury" documented by clinical reports.

The clinical documentation will be treated in compliance with current privacy legislation. In cases recognized by the organization, the participation fee only will be considered valid for registration for the following year's edition upon payment of an administrative fee of € 15.00.

The registration kept valid for the following year is nominal and non-transferable to third parties and will only be valid for the year following the withdrawal. In case of further non-participation, the fee will be considered forfeited.

ART. 9 – TIME-TABLE, TIMING and ROAD BOOK

The Time-tables for all routes are published on the event's website and made official at least 7 days before the event.

At the start and finish of each TIMED Special Stage, the individual times of the competing athletes will be recorded using the appropriate chip applied to the bicycle number, provided with the technical envelope. Those who skip even one TIMED Special Stage will not appear on the final order of arrival.

Non-compliance or refusal to undergo the required technical checks will result in immediate disqualification and reporting to the competent authorities.

The timing will be carried out using methods that will be communicated before the Event.

ART. 10 – COMPOSITION, RANKINGS AND PRIZE-GIVING FOR CLUBS

The composition of a club will be defined as such if there is a minimum group of 4 cyclists registered for the same sports club. Clubs can be composed of men only, women only, or mixed groups.

The teams that bring the most cyclists to the completion of the chosen routes, within the maximum time indicated by the time-table referred to in Art. 10, will be awarded.

In the case of teams composed of the same number of cyclists, the best sum of the timed sections will be considered.

  • 3rd Club "Award NOVA Eroica ISTRIA – Truffle Route 2026"

The Prize-Giving will take place at the end of the race in the Bike Village at 3:00 PM for the MEDIUM route and 4:00 PM for the LONG route.

ART. 11 - INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS AND PRIZE-GIVING

The Rankings will be determined by the sum of the individual times of the Timed sections.

  • 4:00 PM LONG route “Truffles Route”
  • 4:00 PM TEAMS RANKING

PRIZES NOT COLLECTED IN PERSON WILL NEITHER BE HANDED OVER TO THIRD PARTIES NOR SHIPPED HOME.

The Organization reserves the right to modify the categories in accordance with new provisions or new needs. All participants who complete NOVA Eroica ISTRIA – Truffle Tour will receive a commemorative medal of the event upon arrival.

ART. 12 - HEALTHCARE ASSISTANCE

A Shared Health Rescue Plan, approved by the Operational Centre of Novigrad (Cittanova), is foreseen. The race is followed by ambulances and licensed doctors. The emergency number will be reported in the Road Book.

ART. 13 – CLOSURE AND ROUTE DEVIATIONS

A time limit to complete the race is set for 7:00 PM.

ART. 14 – REFRESHMENT POINTS

Along the routes, one type of refreshment point is foreseen:

  • Official Eroica REFRESHMENT POINTS (marked with an R inside the EROICA MAP) equipped with drinks, sweet and savoury food in authentic Eroica style;

Please note that the REFRESHMENT POINTS will ALWAYS BE FREE.

ART. 15 - COMPLAINTS AND INFORMATION

Any complaints must be sent to the organization exclusively via e-mail at info@istra.hr within 10 days following the publication of the list of arrivals.

ART. 16 - CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT OF THE EVENT DATE

If, due to force majeure, the event does not take place, the amount paid at the time of registration would not be refunded, but the participation fee only will be considered valid in case of request for registration for the subsequent edition. The organization will also be entitled to an administrative fee of € 15.00 for the transfer of registration to the following year. The request for registration for the following year and the payment of the administrative fee must take place by the date indicated by the organization after the cancellation of the event.

Furthermore, due to force majeure or other serious reasons that may jeopardize the preparation of the event or the participation of a number of people not less than half of the registered participants, the Organization reserves the right to change the location and/or date of the event within the same calendar year. In this case, the fee paid for registration will be valid for the event on the rescheduled date, without additional costs for the registered participants. The transfer of registration to the following year's edition is not possible in this case.

ART. 17 - VARIATIONS

The Organization reserves the right to make changes to the Regulations at any time. The official website of the event where these Regulations are published is the only official point of information about the event.

ART. 18 - RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF CYCLISTS

Cyclists are required to visibly affix the bicycle numbers behind the saddle, as well as to affix the back race number to their back, provided by the Organization. These numbers cannot be modified or altered in any way.

It is mandatory to use a hard helmet approved for cycling and to keep it fastened for the entire duration of the race. Cyclists are required to respect the rules of the road throughout the entire race, including in the timed sections.

ART. 19 – DISQUALIFICATIONS

2-year disqualifications will be applied to those who:

  • Make unauthorized route deviations;
  • Exhibit abusive and offensive behaviour towards the Organization's staff;
  • Exhibit behaviour that is disrespectful of the environment, such as littering outside the designated areas at refreshment points and checkpoints.

We appeal to the civic sense of all participants to ensure that the territories along the route remain clean.

In serious cases, such as participation with the RACE NUMBER of others and the unauthorized transfer of one's registration, at the unquestionable judgment of the organization, the disqualification may be lifelong.

Disqualifications imposed during the year may lead to exclusion from the starting list at any time at the unquestionable judgment of the Organization.

Any bicycle fitted with a motor or any form of propulsion assistance is strictly forbidden on the LONG and MEDIUM courses. Violation will result in disqualification or expulsion.

ART. 20 - APPROVAL, CONSENT, AUTHORIZATION, ETC.

By requesting to participate in NOVA Eroica ISTRIA – Truffle Tour in any of the ways provided for in these Regulations, every participant from the moment of registration:

  • Declares to have read and approved these Regulations and to accept every part of them.
  • Acts as guarantor of their behaviour during and after the event.
  • Declares to be in good physical condition and to have provided the Organization with a valid medical certificate after undergoing a medical aptitude examination for competitive or cycle-touring cycling practice (as per Art. 6), providing the Organization with the broadest indemnity for any damage that may be suffered as a consequence of their participation in the event.
  • Expresses consent to the use of their data, including for commercial purposes, as provided for by the consolidated text on privacy no. 196 of 30/06/2003 and the European Union Regulation on privacy 2017/679 (GDPR/18).
  • Grants the Organization the broadest consent to the use, in ways permitted by law, including for profit, of all their video or photographic images taken during the days of the event, giving the Organization the faculty to transfer these images to third parties.
  • The aforementioned authorization for the use of one's image must be understood as granted indefinitely and without territorial limits worldwide, for use in various publications and films, including, purely by way of example and not limitation, promotional and/or advertising materials created on all media.
  • The organization may also transfer the rights of use provided for in this agreement to third parties and its institutional and commercial partners.

The Organization disclaims all responsibility for itself and its collaborators, for accidents or damage to people or things, which may occur before, during, and after the event or as a result of it.

Furthermore, by sending the online registration form, the participant self-certifies the non-existence of sports, civil, and/or criminal sanctions, even if served, for facts related to doping and declares that they have not taken - and will not take - substances included in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) antidoping list http://list.wada-ama.org/prohibited-all-times/prohibited-substances/.

False self-certification will be prosecuted according to law.

In case of a positive result in anti-doping controls carried out during NOVA Eroica ISTRIA – Truffle Tour, or a confirmed positive result in the 6 (six) months following, in other sports events, the competitor is obliged to pay the NOVA EROICA Organization, as compensation for the serious damage caused to the event's image, the sum of € 50,000.00 (fifty thousand euros/00).

The sums collected by the Organization, as compensation for damage to image, will be entirely donated to youth sports activities.

ART. 21 – ORGANIZATION, PROCESSING AND REGISTRATION OF PERSONAL DATA
