Ours is an initiative conceived by Giancarlo Brocci out of love for cycling in 1997, but its roots go much further back in time.
We admire the values of a cycling past that we want to revitalize, the one that inspired so much of Italian history, literature, culture, customs, and even music. We want to explore and spread the authentic roots of an extraordinary sport, with a great popular soul, to rediscover the beauty of effort and the joy of achievement.
The heroic cycling of Bartali and Coppi is capable of teaching true needs, those tied to the sacrifice that pushes one's physical limits, when thirst, hunger, and fatigue make themselves felt with all their intensity. It is a cycling capable of instilling respect and creating bonds between loyal opponents.
"We want to rediscover the beauty of effort and the joy of achievement."
Giancarlo Brocci, Creator of L'Eroica
It is a cycling that aims to generate healthy and beautiful athletes, new role models to inspire and aspire to.
L'Eroica is also a foundation for the preservation of Tuscany's heritage of dirt roads. From these romantically contemporary conceptions came the idea for the cycling event, which was born in 1997. At the start in Gaiole in Chianti that time there were 92 "hunters of feelings and emotions", as Giancarlo Brocci defines them.
The original Eroica Dolomiti route, through dust and sweat, with its 3,000 meters of altitude difference will take you to touch the sky first at Prato Piazza and then at the Cornetto di Confine overlooking Austria.
The medium route will give you a taste of what it means to climb the Dolomites on a vintage bike. We'll ride along one of the most beautiful dirt roads in the Dolomites, the one that takes us to Prato Piazza with a refreshment point at 2,000 meters above sea level.

A charming route that winds between Cortina, the Tre Croci Pass, and Lake Misurina. It will allow you to appreciate the charm of the Dolomites and the view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
