Our initiative was conceived by Giancarlo Brocci out of his love for cycling in 1997, but its roots go back much further in time.
L’Eroica started in 1997 because of one man, Giancarlo Brocci, who admired the values of a past cycling so much that he wanted to reconnect others to the heritage that inspired much Italian history, literature, culture, and music.
L’Eroica was also begun as a foundation for the protection and preservation of the last gravel roads in Tuscany. These romantic concepts led to the idea of L’Eroica, an event that initially saw 92 “hunters of feelings and emotions”, as the creator Giancarlo Brocci defines them.
Beside the main Eroica events, Eroica organizes other exclusive events dedicated to the members of Ciclo Club Eroica which evoke the intimate and familiar atmosphere of the first Eroica editions.These events are the perfect opportunity to explore Eroica in a new way while becoming part of a community of cyclists and enthusiasts closer to the Eroica than ever before.
The long route embodies an Eroica-style ride perfectly: dust, sweat and reward! With nearly 2.400 m of total ascent on both asphalt and gravel roads, this route is definitely very challenging.
The Eroica Germania medium route combines breathing-taking landscapes with a pretty much challenging course and some nice gravel roads.
The Eroica Germania short route includes everything any rider might expect from the Rheingau region: suggestive sights of the Rhine river, vineyard lines as far as the eye can see
