A unique cycling event that brings together vintage bicycles, classic clothing and a touch of nostalgia for cycling enthusiasts of all ages. On a beautiful day in picturesque Valkenburg aan de Geul, cycling enthusiasts from all over the world have been gathering since 2016 to participate in this unique event. The atmosphere is steeped in unparalleled charm, with everyone having the opportunity to shine in authentic retro cycling outfits.
From woolen jerseys to braces and butterfly saddles, every detail from a bygone era can be admired during Eroica Valkenburg. The main attraction of Eroica Valkenburg is, of course, the ride itself. On the weekend of 5 and 6 June 2027, the idyllic town of Valkenburg aan de Geul will welcome you for an extraordinary cycling experience.
This jubilee year Eroica Valkenburg knows two brand new routes through the hillside of Limburg. For this Jubilee Edition, we bring together the best of 10 years of Eroica Valkenburg in two spectacular routes. Expect iconic climbs, scenic country roads, gravel sections, vineyards, castles and routes through three countries.
As always, we will offer you amazing gastronomic stops with local and regional delicacies along the routes, and the warm welcome of the people of Limburg. Eroica Valkenburg is a celebration of the rich cycling history in a region that, together with Belgium, was the cradle of professional cycling.
It is a tribute to the pioneers of yesteryear, whose perseverance and passion laid the foundations for what the sport is today. This year’s shortest route takes you to the heritage sites of Eroica, in the heart of South Limburg. 650 metres of altitude, famous climbs from the Amstel Gold Race and three special stops. A varied route full of character, challenge and history.
Classical in every sense of the word. The Classic takes you on a 100 km route with 1,000 metres of elevation gain along well-known roads and climbs in South Limburg. Completely paved, challenging and featuring everything that makes a true Eroica classic so special.
A tribute to 10 years of Eroica. This year, the longest route takes you past the highlights of 10 years of Eroica.
