The wealth of L’Eroica: our territory

Since 1997, L’Eroica has preserved and promoted the beauty of the province of Siena, enhancing a heritage that is unique in the world: its landscape. On the occasion of the 29th edition, we once again celebrate the deep bond between sport and environmental protection.

Every year, 17 municipalities in the Siena area warmly welcome thousands of cyclists from all over the world, providing the perfect natural, historical, and human backdrop to the emotions of those who choose to challenge the dust and the white roads.

17 municipalities, 2 routes, 290 kilometers

The beating heart of the movement is encompassed in the two permanent routes of Terra Eroica:

• L’Eroica di Gaiole in Chianti
• Eroica Montalcino

Together, these two itineraries wind for 290 kilometers, crossing hills, vineyards, medieval villages, and gravel roads that form the true cultural and emotional geography of vintage cycling.

The human heritage: becoming guardians of the territory

For the 29th edition, “Adopt a Kilometer” renewed and strengthened an initiative that transforms a passion for cycling into a concrete gesture of care, respect, and responsibility toward the land that hosts us.

Thanks to the valuable collaboration with local associations across the 17 municipalities, cyclists, volunteers, and citizens symbolically take charge of the stretches of road passing through their areas, committing to cleaning, litter removal, and roadside maintenance before, during, and after the event.

A simple yet powerful gesture that turns every participant and resident into an active environmental guardian and an example for future generations.

A partnership for sustainability

The project is made possible through the renewed synergy with Terrecablate Reti e Servizi, a leading Tuscan internet and telecommunications provider. As a Benefit Corporation, Terrecablate strongly supports initiatives dedicated to the environment and local communities. Deeply rooted in the Siena region, the company combines technological innovation, social responsibility, and landscape preservation.
